"TiE is a global, not-for-profit network of entrepreneurs and professionals dedicated to the advancement of entrepreneurship and is not limited to any industry, region or ethnicity.
TiE provides a platform for mentoring, networking & education, to entrepreneurs & professionals. Each location of TiE offices is known as a chapter. 'TiE' stands for 'The Indus Entrepreneurs' and reflects the ethnic South Asian or Indus roots of the founders.
TiE's mission is to provide a platform on which people with entrepreneurial spirit and those interested in economic value creation can come together to share ideas. TiE endeavors to cultivate and nurture the ecosystems of entrepreneurship and free-market economics everywhere, as it sees this to be the single most powerful instrument of prosperity.

Organization Structure
TiE has grown into a prominent, global, not-for-profit organization, which is inclusive and transparent in its governance and operations. TiE currently has 40 chapters in 9 countries. Chapters are separate legal entities, managed independently by their Presidents and Board of Directors and have to conform to TiE's charter and guiding principles.
TiE Inc is the governing body for its worldwide chapters. The 15 member Board of Trustees (BOT) is elected by chapter presidents and is headed by a Chairperson. The BOT provides the strategic vision and guidance to chapters and is responsible for managing the TiE brand and setting standards.
Chapter’s revenue sources include, membership fees, sponsorship and admission fees at events. Sponsorship is offered on a non-exclusive basis to organizations that offer value to our entrepreneurial ecosystem. An increasing number of pre-eminent organizations sponsor TiE and its activities. Their financial support has been instrumental in the growth and evolution of TiE. While each Chapter has its own pool of sponsors, Silicon Valley Bank is the first and only global sponsor of TiE Inc.
In addition to sponsors, Charter Members and members constitute our three core communities. Charter membership of TiE is exclusive and is by invitation only. A key strength of TiE is the quality of our Charter Members who have achieved professional success and have established a stature in the community. Charter Members have to be ready, willing and able to contribute time, effort, energy and skills to further the development of their chapter and of their fellow members, primarily through mentoring.
The general membership of TiE is open to anyone who pays nominal fees. Members can access various activities and services, including mentoring by Charter Members.
TiE strives to proactively initiate new programs to deliver value to all our constituent members.
