TiE Charter Members International Retreat

The TiE Global Charter Member (CM) Retreat takes place in Bali, Indonesia took place from August 4-7th, 2011 at the Pan Pacific Resort. This year, the Annual Charter Member Retreat is a “Sold out” event with over 150 CMs in attendance and close to 300 guests, including CMs, families and sponsors. Here is the list of CMs who will be in attendance.

Our VIP guests at the Retreat this year wereShekhar Kapur and Steve Waugh – a little of cricket and bollywood – will make for colorful and interesting business sessions. This year, for the first time, our Retreat Committee has also planned for “What’s your passion” session and “Provocative Conversations” - varied panel discussions, showcasing some of our CMs in attendance. One session that is capturing my imagination is that of “Life with an Entrepreneur” where a group of spouse will look at life from the other side.

The fun activities included sightseeing temples, trekking down lush forests and paddy fields, shopping for handicrafts, woodcarvings and batik fabrics. Wildlife lovers will see the one-of a kind komodo dragon, unique to the island nation, and sports enthusiasts will go river rafting and parasailing. At the resort itself, TiE CMs and their families relaxed with a round of golf, dip in the pool or spa treatments and mingled with other CMs and their families.

This year, we are fortunate to have Standard Chartered Private Bank as our Retreat sponsors. We also have mobile support from Perfsystems India, and the schedule and CM profiles of attendees will be accessible on their mobiles.

This year, the TiE Global Retreat Committee went beyond the call of duty in planning and organizing a stellar Retreat. Our Retreat Committee members this year were Karan Singh Thakral (chair), Sanjeev Bikhchandani, Anil Khatod, Vish Mishra, Mahavir Sharma, Ravi Mantha, Navneet Chugh, and Amir Hudda. Ashok Rao, TiE Global Chairman and PK Agarwal, TiE Global CEO also championed the CM Retreat and did a fantastic job of marketing and promoting the Retreat from early this year.
