 The TiE Entrepreneurial Summit (TES) is Asia’s largest Summit, being held in Bangalore December 16-18 2008, and will be bringing together a galaxy of entrepreneurs, venture capitalists, policy makers, academia, industry, thought leaders and other major stake holders. TES 2008 will focus on retail, real estate, hospitality, healthcare, education, aerospace, manufacturing, fashion, social entrepreneurship, CleanTech, mobile and financial services. TES 2008 has been crafted to provide a comprehensive perspective on all aspects of entrepreneurship. Entrepreneurs with unbeatable track records of success behind them – and now stellar names in industry - will lead the summit across 50 impressive sessions, outlining the future of entrepreneurship.

TES 2008- Inclusive Entrepreneurship

-Bring together different industrial sectors and verticals such as Retail, Real Estate, Hospitality, Healthcare, Education, Aerospace, Manufacturing, Social Entrepreneurship, Clean Tech, Mobile and Financial Services and others.

-Promote interaction between Indian and overseas investors, senior Government representatives and policy makers, business leaders and selected companies representing India’s entrepreneurial talent.

Earlier Summits

·         TiE Entrepreneurial Summit is one of Asia’s largest conventions for entrepreneurs. TES 2007 was held in New Delhi in December, 2007. The Summit connected over 15,000 entrepreneurs from across Asia to the world’s leading investors.

·         TES 2007 highlighted the significance of entrepreneurship and the role that Indian entrepreneurs play in the global economy. The theme ‘Entrepreneurship is the Future’ revolved around entrepreneurial opportunities and developments in not only conventional fields like technology, consumer business and media, but also in emerging areas such as lifestyle, social entrepreneurship, cleantech, etc. The Summit focused on educating entrepreneurs on aspects that influence the entrepreneurial environment and the opportunities available in the Indian market.

 ·         Saurabh Srivastava, President TiE Delhi, said, "We want to drive the importance of entrepreneurship in India by showcasing the contribution of various enterprises to the nation's economic growth." He also said that innovative ideas and right investments will define a successful entrepreneur with the opportunities the Indian business scenario offers.

·         The Deal Flow opportunity featured business plans from entrepreneurs who were looking for funding. The plans received went through a mentoring and scrutiny process, giving the venture capital community a platform to look at interesting investment opportunities to bridge the final lap.

TES 2006 – Democratizing Entrepreneurship

·         TiE Entrepreneurial Summit 2006 was the first of its kind to attract entrepreneurs from around the world. The Summit took place in Mumbai in December, 2006. This event focused on India’s growth story and emphasized the importance of entrepreneurship for India’s development by presenting stories and perspectives that helped inspire, create, nurture and sustain entrepreneurship on a mass scale.

 ·         Major personalities from the Indian entrepreneurship community participated in this summit. Budding and growing entrepreneurs, aspiring entrepreneurs, domestic and global investors, service providers and policy makers also took part in this event.

·         Mr K.V. Kamath, Managing Director & CEO of ICICI Bank and member of the TiE Advisory Board said that India has millions of existing and potential entrepreneurs, both large and small. He said, “There is a growing set of entrepreneurs who want to move to the next level in terms of scale. The Summit provides an excellent platform to budding entrepreneurs to interact with iconic and successful entrepreneurs.” He also said he was very pleased to provide support to the Summit and to TiE’s vision of fostering entrepreneurship.

 ·         Mr Russell Pereira, CEO, KPMG India, said that KPMG entered India in an entrepreneurial manner by setting up a greenfield operation. Therefore, they were very keen to support the initiative of celebrating all entrepreneurs in India.
