Steven Koltai heads the Global Entrepreneurship Program (GEP) at the U.S. Department of State, which is poised to play a critical role in the economic recovery of several countries the Middle East, North Africa and Asian regions. . The US Department of State has the unique ability to play the role of convener, coordinator and connector. Leveraging this ability, the GEP marshalls primarily non-governmental partners around six key areas that are essential to creating a successful entrepreneurial ecosystem. These six areas include: identifying promising entrepreneurs, training them, connecting and sustaining entrepreneurs, guiding them to capital, advocating for supportive policy and regulations, and celebrating their successes. GEP is poised to play a critical role in the economic recovery of several countries the Middle East, North Africa and Asian regions.

Prior to his current role, Mr. Koltai has been a successful serial entrepreneur. He co-founded Coronet, today known as SES-Astra, Europe's only private television satellite system. He also started an online event registration and management company, Event411 based in California. He has spent several years in management level positions in corporate and public life.
